At the moment I an working with a plan to reserve painting days for Thursday, and possibly some Saturdays. Days can be flexible and I shall try to set some specific dates aside  in the New Year.

Introductory classes in Stained Glass
I run courses in stained glass with particular emphasis on painting glass.
I also cover the basics i..e. the fundamental rules of design, cartooning cut-lining cutting and leading etc.. Painting can be done as a day's course. making a painted panel can be achieved in two or three days.
For the uninitiated, examples of 'painted glass' can be seen mostly in church windows from  the C12th to present day. Today the technique can be used as a modern art form and another very satisfying and potentially beautiful means of expression.

Painting adds another dimension to coloured glass, giving scope for personal expression and this is a unique opportunity to gain an insight into something special. The paint is composed of  metal oxides and glass frit. When fired in a kiln the paint becomes fused onto the surface of the glass and is then completely permanent.  I am able to take the student to a high level of multi-layer painting in comparitively short time.
Paintng days at the studio are usually Thursdays, but times are flexible and can be arranged to suit.

Students Testemonials

"I really  appreciated your 'tuition', you have such a wide knowledge and
experience of glass and in particular painting. What I liked was the
fact that you could see what I wanted to do and you were able to
stretch me beyond what I thought I would be able to achieve. I am
really pleased with my panel".

"I learnt a lot and improved my confidence during my day's glass painting one to one tuition with Andrew Taylor. It was very useful to pick up small but important facts and ideas gained by Andrew's experience and knowledge to help me advance my skills. I thoroughly enjoyed my day; Andrew was encouraging, welcoming and hospitable".

"What a privilege to be taught by Andrew Taylor, stained glass artist. I would like to thank Andrew for teaching me his many years of knowledge, over a course of three days, helping me to produce a painted stained glass window that I am more than pleased with. Taught in a welcoming, friendly, relaxed atmosphere, where Andrew is very enthusiastic and supportive, to guide and share his knowledge and experience. I would thoroughly recommend this course."
